Robin S. Brown, PhD, LP, NCPsyA, is a New York State Licensed Psychoanalyst, and a member of adjunct faculty for the Counseling and Clinical Psychology Department at Teachers College, Columbia University.
We seek therapy when we find ourselves stuck. My role is to help you get unstuck so that you can live a happier and more rewarding life. Working collaboratively, we will identify and explore unrecognized patterns of relationship. Our basic experience of the world is largely determined by the nature of these patterns. I can help you change these patterns, and in this way to discover new possibilities for living.
Emphasizing the importance of self-reflection, my outlook on treatment helps you deepen your relationships with other people, and promotes an increased capacity for self-expression and creativity. My approach emphasizes the role of the unconscious and the importance of self-reflection. Undergoing deep-seated change is challenging and sometimes even uncomfortable, but seeking to enter willingly into this process can help bring about a re-vitalization in our relationship to ourselves, others, and the wider world.
I specialize in:
- Career struggles
- Relationship issues
- Sexual problems
