Peggy Ann Barnett, PhD

Dr. Peggy Ann Barnett received her M.S.Ed. degree in counseling and Ph.D. in educational psychology from Fordham University and is a New York State licensed mental health counselor (LMHC). She brings extensive counseling experience in both secondary and higher education settings with an emphasis on adolescents with adjustment issues as well as military personnel transitioning to college.* (See link to description of Veterans Transition Experience below.)

Dr. Barnett’s approach is relational, cognitive-behavioral, and interpersonal – an eclectic approach that views life challenges and transitions through the lens of attachment. She works with adolescents, adults, couples, and families to help them achieve more effective functioning, greater satisfaction and overall well-being.

Dr. Barnett lives in Manhattan with her husband, Jaime. They have an 18-year-old daughter, Jacqueline, a freshman at college, and a chinchilla, Nibbles, aptly named.
